The mother of a Basildon man killed by a freak wave in Cornwall, has told how he was sat holding hands with his girlfriend at the time.
Heather Burnett, mother of 20-year-old James of Loxford, Felmores, Basildon said that he was on holiday with his girlfriend Lou and her parents when the accident happened at Fox Cove, Treyarnon Bay near Padstow on August 9.
James was knocked unconscious as he fell into the water and despite his girlfriend trying in vain to save him, he was dragged away by strong currents.
