It must be a pretty strange sensation being in Snow Patrol right now.
Having been steadily grafting since university all of a sudden someone's put a rocket under the band's musical career in the last 12 months.
Their no strangers to the festival and have been here before earlier in the day and on a smaller stage.
Few would have mentioned the band this time last year but today they make a huge impact on the V Stage.
There has been a lot of positive feeling towards the band and they reward the fans this afternoon with a lively set including the key tracks from the Mercury Music Prize nominated Final Straw.
Highlights today include Spitting Games which has all the crowd on their feet, arms in the air cheering the band on and or course, Run.
Lead singer Gary Lightbody is appreciative of the crowd's reaction and enthuses the huge crowds to give some support to another up and coming band The Concretes.
We're told the band only had a half-full tent for their previous evening's performance in Staffordshire.
After all, a few years ago it would have been Snow Patrol struggling on one of the smaller stages, and it's noticeable from a band who've been promoted in the running order that their keen to encourage emerging talent.
The band send everyone a way happy with the anthemic Run and there's a strong suspicion that one more good album of material from the group will give them a headline slot.
