Visitors to Shoeburyness Youth Centre, in Delaware Road, tried out a range of activities from making smoothies to creating works of art to see what the centre can offer them.
Southend Youth and Connexions Service's summer activities coordinator Mark Hillier said of Friday's open day: "It's gone fabulously well. I'm surprised at the amount of interest."
Attractions included a barbecue, bouncy castle, football and motor mechanics lessons and about 100 people visited.
