An explosion of colour and noise mesmerised thousands as Southend carnival's spectacular parade wound its way along the seafront.
Everything from witches and wizards to giant dancing flowers and butterflies showed their colours on the esplanade for the annual charity event.
Lights and pumping music blasted out from every float creating a party atmosphere for the spectators who packed every inch of the procession route from Chalkwell shelter to the Kursaal.
