Having spent previous years at V on the smaller stages great things are expected from Athlete as the take to the V Stage.
Unfortunately, something's not quite right.
It could be the order of songs - the start with Beautiful rather than one of their better-known singles - or it may be that the new material isn't that well received.
One thing is certain, there's not a huge reaction from the crowd. In fact the situation can best be described as lethargic.
Yes, there's clapping and cheering at times but this is largely for well known singles El Salvador and You Got The Style, but that aside the band don't seem to offer much.
We're told there's a new album on the way in February and some of the tracks are previewed here but the reaction is decidedly luke warm.
It's a great shame, as having seen Athlete perform in Cambridge earlier in the year, more was expected. But the band don't appear to have moved on.
They now appear to have been eclipsed by their then support act, Snow Patrol, in people's affections.
