Ravinder Bopara and Danish Kaneria are included in the Essex squad for Sunday's totesport League duel against Kent at Colchester.
They are added to the XI who secured victory over Gloucestershire at Bristol a week ago and both are expected to play. But who makes room for them is something that has yet to be decided.
"There will be no decision until we have looked at the pitch on the morning of the match," declared head coach Graham Gooch.
But it is likely that Bopara, who has been unavailable for selection because he has been representing England in the Under-19 Test series against Bangladesh over the last three weeks, will reclaim his place at the expense of Aftab Habib.
Kaneria is available once more following an absence of nearly two months after failing to win a place in Pakistan's ICC trophy squad.
