Police today stepped up their investigation into race hate attacks in Basildon after a suspect was released without charge.
The 30-year-old man had been questioned over attacks on the home of Basildon Islamic Centre leader Sarfraz Sarwar in Gordons, Pitsea, and two nearby houses.
Following the man's release, Basildon police have vowed to continue to investigate the incidents.
A police spokesman said: "A man arrested in connection with racially-aggravated criminal damage in Basildon in July and August has been released from his bail without charge.
"However, investigations will continue, as does our appeal for anyone with information."
Mr Sarwar's house was attacked by racist thugs on Tuesday, July 27, and CCTV footage showed a short, stocky person throw a brick at a window before bending down and repeating the act.
A pig's trotter was also left on the doorstep during the attack.
Their religion prevents Muslims from eating pork.
Anyone with information should call Basildon police on 01268 532212 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111.
