A bitterly disappointed City manager Steve Mosely declared yesterday: "We haven't become a bad side overnight and we should have taken something from both opening games.
"But you have to take goal chances when you create them but we didn't and then paid for it by giving away sloppy goals at the other end and losing both games," he said.
Mosely's priority now is to lift the players for their trip to Worthing on Saturday and for the visit of Chesham United on Monday (kick off 7.45pm) but he will be without Garry Cross (out for six weeks after an operation) and Paul Nicholls.
"I know we have not played as well as we did in pre-season matches and some players are not performing as they should," he said. "But we have to work hard together and get back on track and pick up points."
