Colchester United defender Pat Baldwin hopes that his man-of-the-match performance against Peterborough United last Saturday has made people realise that he has not disappeared.
Describing last season as one he wants to leave in the past, forgotten man Baldwin hopes that his chances of first-team football at Layer Road have improved this year.
He told the Evening Gazette: "Last season was something I want to put in the past.
"I felt like I had been forgotten, so it was good to get out there on Saturday and not only play but show the fans that I was still about and I hadn't disappeared."
Baldwin hopes that his performance has also upped the chances of him being considered for a first-team place.
"I don't expect it to guarantee my name on the starting line-up tomorrow.
"Wayne Brown has a bit more experience and I think that will mean he gets the nod before me, but it's good to know that I'm in the reckoning."
