Controversial plans to open a curry house look set to be approved by Braintree Council.
Members of the area committee will decide whether to approve a planning application which was deferred from a meeting in June.
The application for the Curry Palace in Challis Lane, Braintree, has now been recommended for approval by planning officers, despite 294 letters of objection and an 84-signature petition against the proposal.
Letters have raised concerns that parking is inadequate and additional cars will block residents' driveways, food bins will attract vermin, and that there will be an increase in smells from cooked food.
Officers have recommended opening hours be restricted to 5pm to 11pm each day and no customer should enter the premises after 10pm between Sunday and Thursday and also on bank holidays.
