Jet will not be playing at V this weekend because of a family bereavement.
The band's appearance on the NME stage at this year's festival has been been cancelled due to the death of the father of band members Nic and Chris Cester.
Jet's management request that the privacy of Nic and Chris, and their family and friends is respected at this difficult time.
Denis Desmond, V Festival organiser said: "Our sincere and heartfelt sympathy extends to Nic, Chris and the Cester family.
"It is regrettable that Jet will not be appearing but we and their fans will completely understand their decision."
The band will not make any further statements at this time and the V Festival organisers confirm that Jet will not be replaced.
