A total of 96 members helped Tom Kennedy celebrate his Captain's Day at Ballards Gore.
Twenty golfers played below their handicap with the top prize going to Del Roberts (12) on countback from Ben Crick (18) after both finished with 43 points.
A past captain, Denis Pemble (13) pipped Martin Sutton (13) for third place, again on countback, after both scored 41 points.
Del Roberts also won the over 60s prize with the scratch award going to Andy S Hall (34 points). Ben Crick took the prize for the best front nine, while the best back nine award went to Paul Williams.
There were numerous other prizes. Nearest the pin on the first, 12th and 14th went to Paul Williams, Sean Nettleship and Alan McNair respectively.
Longest drives on the third, 16th and 18th were in turn by Gary Botfield, Ryan Parfett and Darren Morris. Lee Clark collected the prize for the longest drive on the seventh.
Afternoon Texas Scramble went to Pete Fuller, Gary Botfield, Bob Cross and Russell Dunmore on the front nine and Ryan Parfett, Nigel Hooper and sons Glen and Mark with a score that included six gross birdies and an eagle.
Cadet Daniel Capps (5), who in the recent Essex Boys Championship came second in the under-16 and sixth overall, continued his good form in the August medal.
A front nine of 34, which included four birdies, four pars and a bogey and a back nine of 39 (gross 73 net 68) gave him Division One by a comfortable four-shot margin.
