Police were today hunting vandals who went on a wrecking spree and started four separate fires across Basildon.
Arson investigations have been launched into the incidents and officers have not ruled out a connection between the blazes.
The most worrying fire took place on Sunday night at Whitmore County Infant School, in Basildon, where yobs threw petrol bombs at the roof and walls.
Fortunately, just £100 of damage was caused. But had the roof fire taken hold it could caused a major incident.
