Motorcyclists are continuing to tear up a site set for a nature reserve.
The land off Northwick Road, Canvey, continues to be blighted by motorcyclists, some of whom are not wearing the correct safety equipment while using the disused roadway as a speed track.
The bikers are also cutting across land, behind Morrison's supermarket. The area is of special interest to nature lovers, with unique plants and wildlife.
The Echo has previously reported 28 species of plants and insects, including a rare species of orchid, thrive at the site.
Dave Blackwell, the manager of Garden World on Northwick Road, said: "This past weekend has been probably one of the worst for biker nuisance.
"We have had quad bikes and off-road bikes roaring past the garden centre, right through our car park. Three scramblers came through at about 70 mph doing wheelies."
Canvey councillor Ray Howard said he was trying to find a solution to the problem. He said: "These are not just local people - they are coming from near and far. I am asking for a meeting to be convened of the various agencies to try and combat this problem as soon as possible."
New police Inspector Chris Barker said he was visiting the motorcycle area with an Asbo officer yesterday, after which they said they would form an action plan.
