Ipswich Town's Darren Bent scored his third goal in six appearances for England Under-21s last night.

The livewire striker came on in the 58th minute in their friendly against the Ukraine at Middlesbrough's Riverside Stadium, while Peter Taylor's outfit were leading 2-0.

And Bent bagged his customary late strike in stoppage time when he tapped home Dean Ashton's pull-back.

Blues' left-back Matt Richards won his first cap for the under-21s as he played the first half in England's eventual 3-1 triumph.

Clacton-based Town midfielder Ian Westlake, who was also called into the squad, was an unused substitute.
