Cash certainly hasn't brought immediate results for big-spending Hornchurch as they bid to become the first champions of the new Conference North.
For, after sharing the spoils in their opening game at the weekend, Gary Hill's Urchins started their home campaign last night with a 1-0 defeat courtesy of striker Kris Lee's goal.
Hornchurch's latest capture was ex Spurs' Basildon boy Darren Caskey and the club were reported at the weekend to be carrying a wage bill of £1.2m a year.
Former Billericay manager Gary Calder is their chairman.
