Arena Essex entertain Oxford this evening in an Elite League fixture with doubts against a number of the regular Hammers riders making the starting line-up.
Definitely ruled out are the recently retired Kelvin Tatum while Josh Larsen is on the injury list once again having broken multiple bones in his ankle.
The American is likely to be sidelined for another month and it is possible that the home side will also be without Dean Barker, who was injured when he crashed during Monday night's meeting at Wolverhampton.
But Polish rider Greg Walasek is set to return following his viral infection.
Arena Essex promoter Ronnie Russell, desperate to strengthen the side, is hopeful that he will be able to announce a new signing this evening although the rider will not be available to take his place in the side until next week.
In the meantime, the Hammers are looking to end a depressing run that has seen them beaten in their last three matches - all away from the Purfleet Raceway - and they will be hoping to overcome tonight's opponents by a 12 points margin to claim the bonus point.
The meeting starts at 7.45pm.
