Soon after getting his 50, Wickford's class act Kym Beazleigh was raising his bat again to the admiring spectators at the Dick Patmore Memorial Sports Ground on Saturday.
For he passed 1,000 league runs for the season, an excellent milestone that he had come close to reaching last term. This time it was achieved in 13 matches.
After the game Beazleigh paid generous tribute to Wickford's facilities which was much appreciated by the dedicated volunteers who work on the club's ground committee.
Kym certainly took full advantage here, making another impressive contribution of 70 runs towards the 200 target set by Harlow.
Pacy Jamie Went was Wickford's best bowler in this match, taking three wickets for 64 as the visitors were bowled out at the end of their 52 overs.
Once Beazleigh had left the crease, however, Wickford found the run-chase tough and their ninth batsman was required before the winning runs were scored by Steve Hammond, who made 26 not out, in the thirty-fifth over.
Wickford's ambition of return to the Essex League Premier Division now looks increasingly likely, with 18 points from this match stretching their lead to 31 over rivals Hornchurch and Brentwood, who drew against each other this week.
