Boz Boswick goes to the funeral of a road smash victim every ten weeks on average.
Now he is calling for an end to the carnage.
"They have all been friends or customers," said Mr Boswick, who runs a bikers' gear shop in Colchester. "It's not just bikers, it's other people on the roads too.
"We all read about it in the press but people don't realise how bad it is. Working in the trade I know a lot more of them.
"A lot of people have been left without their loved ones."
Mr Boswick is calling for more traffic police to patrol the county's roads.
