Bus services in Colchester face a shake-up after Arriva announced it is selling off its town operations
Almost 100 workers at the Magdalen Street depot will transfer to the Tellings Golden Miller Group (TGM) later this month
TGM, based in Middlesex, will take over Arriva services and its 35-strong fleet of buses on August 29.
Financial details were not disclosed. But bosses have revealed services will be reviewed.
TGM bus director Bill Hiron said: "There will be no changes at all for the first month or so - services will continue as normal.
"But we are looking to implement a new network later this year and there will also be a more gradual process of upgrading and modernising the fleet over 12-15 months."
Arriva was looking to pull out of Colchester after eight years in the town.
Managing director Bob Scowen said: "Geographically, Colchester is a significant distance from our other services across the South-East, and we've found it increasingly difficult to integrate the business with our other operations."
