Police today warned businesses to be on their guard after a forged £20 note turned up in a Westcliff shop.

Two young men went into the King of Green, in St Helen's Road, and used the note to pay for an item.

A shop spokesman said it was difficult to see the note is fake. He said: "It's really good. It's quality. No doubt more of these will turn up."

Police are warning companies to check their notes.

The two men are around 20. One wore a black baseball cap and the other a dark blue baseball cap.
