Jason De Vos is confident he can recover from his persistent knee problem in time for Ipswich Town's Coca-Cola Championship match at Derby County.
The Canadian centre-half has been struggling since pre-season after taking a heavy knock in the match against Osasuna.
He managed to play in last week's Championship curtain-raiser against Gillingham and got another 90 minutes under his belt at Nottingham Forest on Wednesday.
But he admitted: "I shouldn't really have played because my knee was very sore.
"I've had a session in the swimming pool since then, though, and it's feeling a lot better."
De Vos will switch his attentions to international duty straight after Town's appointment at Pride Park.
He is flying home to Canada on Sunday ahead of his country's World Cup qualifier against Guatemala.
