Danish Kaneria is poised to make his Essex comeback at Colchester's Castle Park next week.
Kaneria will be returning to play for the county for the rest of the season following an ankle injury to Scott Brant.
Leg-spinner Kaneria, who joined Essex at the start of the 2004 season, left in June in order to join up with Pakistan for the Asia Cup.
He has since been omitted from his nation's squad for subsequent one-day tournaments in Holland and England (ICC Champions Trophy) and is expected to make his Essex return at Colchester in the Frizzell County Championship match against Durham.
Kaneria will join New Zealander Andre Adams as the county's two overseas players for the remainder of the campaign
