Plans for a new terminal and railway station at Southend Airport are set to come a step closer fruition on Wednesday.
Southend Council's development control committee will be recommended to offer no objection to the proposals.
A final decision on the detailed design for the new facility, which was given outline planning permission five years ago, will be made by Rochford District Council.
Technical services director David Watts is recommending members consider the design and details of the proposed buildings to be acceptable and welcome the provision of modernised passenger and transport facilities at the airport.
Mr Watts said the proposals involved a visitor centre at the rear of the Airport Retail Park and a new terminal building with baggage handling, retail, cafe, Customs and toilet facilities to the north of the retail park with a car park for 355 cars.
