Ena Baga, the Southend cinema organist who achieved national fame, has died at 98.
Ena moved to the town with her family in 1916 and started her career as an organist in local theatres, cinemas, hotels and churches.
Organists were the pop stars of the inter-war years and she found fame after moving to London in the late 1920s Ena was heard by millions when she replaced the legendary Reginald Dixon in radio broadcasts from the Tower Ballroom, Blackpool.
