The identity of an armed gang who robbed a security van in Leigh could be revealed within days by forensic tests.
Detectives are awaiting results of fingerprints and DNA tests on banknotes dropped near the Nationwide Building Society in Leigh Broadway.
A forensic examination is also being carried out on a Honda Accord car which was abandoned by the gang on August 3 at 10.42pm.
The gang of at least three men wearing black balaclavas struck as the security van delivered cash to the building society to refill ATMs.
