The former Wimbledon winger spent yesterday in South Wales agreeing a move to the Bluebirds after failing to establish himself at Upton Park.
And, pending the completion of a medical this morning, the 23-year-old Jamaican international will join up with former Wimbledon chairman Sam Hamman at Ninian Park.
McAnuff arrived at West Ham in February, shortly after fellow Wombles Nigel Reo-Coker and Adam Nowland.
But he struggled to hold down a first team place despite being the only natural right winger at the club last season, making only four starts and scoring once.
The arrival of Sergei Rebrov and Luke Chadwick has pushed him further down the pecking order, and a move to Cardiff revives his chances of first-team football.
Hammers boss Alan Pardew could not comment on the move last night but will be keen to ensure he can act quickly to bring in new faces.
