A charity which employs special needs adults today appealed for help after a fire caused thousands of pounds of damage to its warehouse and lorries.
Yesterday's blaze destroyed a lorry, for which the Hamelin Trust paid £10,000 just three weeks ago, and the flames spread to the warehouse, off Victoria Avenue, Southend.
Site manager Martin Jacobs said: "If anyone could make a donation towards the cost of a new vehicle, or lend us a lorry until we get back on our feet that would be a huge help."
The charity employs 35 adults with special needs to restore furniture and load the vans. They will return to work on Monday. To help call the Trust on 01277 653889.
