Staff at all Castle Point's leisure facilities have had specialist training to help them deal with cases of child abuse.
The borough's council has also insisted there will be a rolling programme of training.
Workers have already had basic lessons and senior staff were given more comprehensive training so they would be able to deal with incidents of abuse.
Highways and leisure committee chairman Ray Howard said the training was an ongoing process.
He said: "Any existing staff that haven't already been trained will be, and new staff, as they are employed, will have to undergo the training."
The committee agreed to introduce training at the end of last year - but insisted it was not sparked by a child abuse problem in Castle Point.
Mr Howard said staff would follow a code of child protection so youngsters could use leisure facilities in safety.
