A cat has been left unable to walk or even stand after heartless yobs shot her in the neck with an air rifle.
Furious - Michelle Harriss with her cat Noddle Picture: ROB BROWNE
Owner Michelle Harriss, 20, of St Michael's Road, Canvey, has slammed the cruel gun thugs, whose actions have left cat Noddle temporarily paralysed.
Noddle's injuries were so severe the four-year-old moggy was only released from the vets on Monday, despite being shot last Thursday.
Miss Harriss said: "The pellet hit her spinal cord and this has affected her very badly.
"The vets bills are more than £250, but what is worse is seeing her in so much pain.
"The people that did this to her must be so cruel. She's a gorgeous cat."
Miss Harriss and her mother, Ann, were so horrified by the attack they have printed off posters and put them up in local shops, warning people of what happened.
Acting Insp Kevin Diable-White said they would be looking into the incident.
