Her new venture could be the answer for many women who want to get fit but may be put off by mixed sex gyms.
Curves For Women is a new venture for Nicki Tawse, owner of the Colchester branch.
She said: "The main attraction of Curves For Women is that it is for women only - even the instructors are female.
"The other incentive is that sessions are just 30 minutes long. Each user spends 30 seconds on a piece of equipment and then moves to the next. You can join in at any time and within the 30-minute session, the user will move around three times."
A person's heart rate is also checked every seven minutes to ensure the person is not overdoing it.
Althought 30 minutes seems a short period or time, Nicki does advise women to got to at least three sessions per week to get the results they want.
