Three busy Maldon mums are taking time out to join in a national event for cancer relief.
Sharon James and her friends Kerry Quy and Andrea Stead, who between them have seven children, will be among 20,000 taking part in the Flora Light Challenge for Women 2004.
The fundraiser is a 5km fun run in London's Hyde Park on Sunday, September 5, for Macmillan Cancer Relief.
For mother-of-three Sharon, 34, of Cross Road, Maldon, training in the town's Promenade Park has proved painful since she fell off her bike and bruised her ribs last week.
"I lost a week's training through that," she said.
However, when all three families take their holiday together in France next week "we hope to do some running on the beach".
