Measures imposed to improve safety at a popular seaside carnival are to be kept in operation after they proved a success.
Organisers of Clacton Carnival are making last-minute preparations for this weekend's procession.
They are sticking with a ban on collecting buckets on the floats to prevent participants being pelted with coins.
Cash collectors will walk alongside the vehicles so money can be placed safely in the buckets.
Carnival association chairman Alan Wiggins put out a plea for spectators to co-operate with the arrangements.
"We do not want to impose rules and regulations which will restrict people's enjoyment of the event, but we have to think of the safety of those who are taking part," he said.
