Born-to-be-wild pensioners relived times when they ruled the road.
Motorbike memories - Mary Barther gets back on the pillion with Len Hunt on his 1950 BSA B31 bike. Picture: STEVE ARGENT
Motorbike-mad pair Lilian Cook, 90, and Mary Barther, 94, fulfilled their dreams of getting back in the saddle yesterday.
They both hopped on the back of a vintage motorcycle as a treat, thanks to Oaks Nursing Home in Lexden, Colchester.
New activities co-ordinator Lindsey Cornes arranged the nostalgic trip down memory lane when she heard the women talking about old times.
They used to ride on their husbands' motorbikes in the 1930s and 40s.
Owner of a 1950s BSA vintage motorcycle Len Hunt, of School Road, Copford, kindly obliged when asked to visit the Oaks Drive care home.
The residents took turns sitting side-saddle on the motorcycle.
