A terrified teenager had knives held to his throat and stomach in a late-night street robbery.

The 17-year-old was confronted by five white men and one black man in Leamington Road, Southend, near the Woodgrange pub at 3.35am on Sunday.

They grabbed his chain and bracelet before making off. The robbers are described as aged between 18 to 23.

Sgt Andy Prophet said: "To have knives held at his throat and stomach must have been terrifying for the victim." Anyone with information should contact Southend police on 01702 431212.
