A Charity fun day has been hailed a success despite being targeted by thieves who stole competition prizes.
Highlands Chalet Park in Clacton was getting ready for Sunday's fun event when the raiders struck.
They broke in on Friday night and stole hundreds of pounds worth of property.
Ron Walsh, who runs the general store at the chalet park with wife, Georgina, said: "They smashed through the rear entrance to the building and stole children's toys and a lot of stuff from the shop."
The stolen toys were going to be prizes in the fun day competitions.
However, everyone at the chalet park rallied round to help make sure it went ahead as planned.
They bought new toys, made cakes and one chalet-owner held a collection and raised £145.
Anyone with information about the break-in should contact Clacton police on 01255 221312
