Brentwood and Ongar Labour Party has selected its prospective parliamentary candidate for the next General Election.
John Adams, 35, is a financial journalist and former Bank of England economist. He said: "We will campaign hard on the local issues that affect people's lives - that's the way to win the trust of the people of this constituency.
"The Tories and the Liberal Democrats have no influence with a Labour government. Here in Brentwood and Ongar only Labour is equipped to effectively bring local issues to the attention of Labour ministers, and I plan to do just that.
"This constituency deserves better than a Tory MP but change can only come if the anti-Tory majority in Brentwood and Ongar stand together. So we will be campaigning hard to convince people that a vote for the Liberal Democrats is a wasted vote."
