New tourist signs have started popping up in Colchester to stop confused visitors getting lost.
Council leisure chiefs are spending £115,000 on 25 new signposts in the town centre to help bewildered tourists.
That works out at £4,600 each.
But Colchester Council claims the signs are worth every penny.
They staged a special exhibition 18 months ago to find out what improvements were needed.
A spokesman said: "One of the comments we got is people can't find their way around Colchester.
"Obviously the current signs aren't adequate - the idea is to make it easier."
