Sainsbury's is to contribute £50,000 to the cost of the highway amendments that will be required after their new extension at Rayleigh Weir is complete.
The agreement comes just days after Castle Point council unanimously granted the store, in Stadium Way, permission to expand to a massive 45,000 sq ft.
The extension will see the sales area of the shop double and create 150 extra parking spaces.
But the council's approval of the plans was subject to the store stumping up cash to help fund necessary amendments to the road and footpaths by the store.
Sainsbury's have now agreed to the £50,000 sum.
A spokesperson for the council's planning department said: "The applicant's agent has confirmed they are willing to make a highway contribution of £50,000 for the amendment of existing traffic regulations in Phoenix Way and footway improvements within the Stadium Trading Estate."
