Danielle, 11, of The Avenue, Canvey, came third in the National Street Dance championship event at the Barbican, London, but later took the stage in a spectacular "dance off."
She and another competitor battled for supremacy in this part of the contest judged by audience reaction. Though narrowly beaten into second place, Danielle was invited to dance on stage with the contest presenter.
She attends Canvey's Karizma dance school run by David Welch.
Danielle's mum, Caroline, said: "The people who ran the competition filmed it for MTV.
"She danced on stage with him in front of 2,000 people. People asked if she would do a video."
Danielle studies salsa, street dancing and break dancing. She dances every day at Karizma, located behind the bingo hall in Furtherwick Road, Canvey.
