Sniffer dogs will be part of high-profile policing to reassure visitors to Chelmsford's V Festival it is a clean event.

Small amounts of drugs have been discovered in the past but police stress Chelmsford's V at Hylands Park is always one of the most well-regulated, crime-free events of its kind in the country.

Chelmsford Police Division's Sgt Chris White said: ''It is the first time I have hired drug detector dogs. It is part of the high profile policing we have always had at the festival and has helped make it one where there is little or no trouble."
