Castle Point teenagers will be encouraged to grab a dustbin and give it a thump at a council-run workshop to beat summer boredom.
Three workshops, including one called Stomp, based on the international hit show, have been set up this month for youngsters aged from 13 to 19 this month. Professional artists and performers have been called in.
Dance, cartoon art and the latest music video techniques will be on offer, thanks to funding from Essex County Council. A spokeswoman for the council's community development team said: "Activities are free and all materials will be provided.
"The Stomp workshop will be led by performers from the show. Stomp has toured the world and been seen on television.
"Two workshop leaders will take students through a routine which includes creating rhythms using brooms, dustbins and other everyday materials."
