Colleagues of Westcliff firefighter Adam Meere, who died while helping tackle a fire in East London, formed a guard of honour at his funeral.
The funeral, held in Adam's hometown in Surrey, was packed full of family, friends and fellow firefighters, who came to bid a final farewell to the 27-year-old.
Adam, who was fresh out of training, and his colleague Bill Faust, 36, a father of three, died from their injuries as they battled a fire at a three-storey building on July 20.
Their station officer, Tony Sandeman, who lives in Southend, was one of the representatives of the London brigade at the funeral.
He said: "The funeral was very well attended and the church was full."
Adam's family watched as firefighters, all in full uniform, formed a guard of honour and acted as pallbearers.
