Scooby Doo will meet children, families, friends and carers at a special event to promote learning through play.
The event has been organised by Castle Point and Rochford Area Partnership to demonstrate how children's play can be more than just a social pastime.
The event, called It's As Simple As That, will take place from 10.30am to 3pm at Runymede Hall, Kiln Road, Thunder-sley and the following day at Clements Hall Leisure Centre in Hawkwell.
Teresa Clark, development worker from the Castle Point Asso-ciation of Voluntary Services, said: "It's for any children of all ages to promote learning through play and is quite interactive."
