Shefki Kuqi has rejected the chance of a trial with Bundesliga side Hansa Rostock.

The Ipswich Town striker, who scored in Monday's pre-season friendly against Osasuna, had been given permission by boss Joe Royle to spend two days in Germany.

Although he declined the opportunity, he may be interested if the club firm-up their interest and offer him a permanent deal.

Former Sheffield Wednesday striker Kuqi, 27, recently turned down an offer to go and play for Daewood Royals in South Korea.

Meanwhile, Kevin Horlock and Jason De Vos are on course to win their fitness battles and be available for Saturday's Coca-Cola Championship match against Gillingham at Portman Road.

Both picked up minor injuries in the 2-1 success against Osasuna.

Town still have concerns over captain Jim Magilton (thigh strain) and Matt Richards (cut foot).
