More than £11,000 in grants are being given to the community by Basildon Council.
Scouts, artists and disabled people will benefit from the cash.
Stephen Horgan, cabinet member for community development, said: "We are pleased to be able to support these worthwhile community groups."
The grants include:
Support Through Art - £1,000
Third Billericay Scout Group - £1,000
Hummingbird Club -£700
Basildon Disabled Sports Club - £526
Vange Fun Day - £500
Fourth Billericay Scout Group - £350
Epilepsy Action - £344.
