Billericay Town continued their preparations for their forthcoming campaign in the Isthmian Premier Division with a comfortable 2-0 victory at Aveley last night.

Striker Danny Hockton and midfielder Gavin Herrera were the men on target as Justin Edinburgh's men bounced back from Saturday's thumping against local rivals Canvey Island.

Hockton fired Town into the lead on the stroke of half-time as the tall targetman swept home a fine cross from the fit again Matt Game.

Then, after the break, Herrera doubled his side's advantage with an 18-yard drive after his initial effort had been blocked.

Ross Wareham later had an effort ruled out for handball for Billericay who now travel to Redbridge this Saturday, kick off 2pm.
