Villagers have recommended that plans for six caravans on land in Stanway are turned down.
Stanway Parish Council's planning committee considered the application for change of use on the land at Turkey Cock Lane for six caravans with two toilet and shower blocks and for the use of the existing access from the lane.
The caravans are already on the site.
At an earlier meeting last month, residents had made 17 objections to the scheme, including concerns about drainage, possible extension of the site and designated use of the land.
Last night, one of the applicants, Nathan Lee, who co-owns the land, told the meeting the plan was not for a travellers' site as the application states but for a private site.
After the meeting, Mr Lee said he would oppose any objections to the plan
