Ukrainian international Sergei Rebrov was the star attraction as West Ham sent a squad to Ship Lane.

The new arrival, who made his debut in Saturday's draw against Anderlecht, played 45 minutes at the Conference South outfit after asking for the opportunity to boost his match fitness.

Once again he was used on the right wing, with Greg Pearson and Millwall triallist Moses Asikodi up front.

Asikodi, 17, left Millwall in unhappy circumstances amid allegations of a training ground assault, and is on a week's trial.

But it was Rebrov who came closest to opening the scoring in a pedestrian first half, twice curling long-range shots narrowly off target.

"He looked sharp, and he got the match practice he said he needed," said coach Tony Carr.

After the break Rebrov's replacement Ollie Allen opened the scoring for Hammers, placing a lofted shot over Paul Gothard on 69 minutes.

But the lead was short-lived, with Cliff Akurang converting a one-on-one at the second attempt after Hammers keeper Matthew Reed looked to have been impeded.
