Basildon skipper Paul Ayres was left scratching his head after he saw his side fail to capitalise against the leaders.
Epping skipper Geoff Maynard's 63 was the only talking point of the hosts' innings as Mark Amos (4-22) and Steve Brown (4-32) did the damage.
But Bickley took swift revenge for his side's poor batting performance by claiming 7-38, as only Ross Marder (28) prospered with the bat.
"We had done all the hard work and got them out but then they came along and bowled well," said Ayres.
